Kinnear signs extension with Houston

04/25/2009 - Houston, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Houston Dynamo signed coach Dominic Kinnear to a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2012 season.

Since starting his career as a head coach in 2004, Kinnear has had one of the most successful coaching careers in MLS. Splitting his time as coach of the San Jose Earthquakes and Houston, Kinnear won the 2005 Supporters' Shield with the Earthquakes and guided the Dynamo to back-to-back MLS Cup championships in 2006 and 2007. He currently has the best winning percentage (.594) in MLS history.

"There's no other place I'd rather be," Kinnear said. "Hopefully these next three-plus years will be filled with more great memories and success stories."

Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
